Apartment Hunting Train Wreck

Wow I haven't been on in a while. Well I have been really busy. I have been on ksl weeding out the possibilities for places to live. If I'm not on ksl I'm calling about or viewing the apartments. If I'm not searching then I'm packing and preparing for the day we finally find one. This apartment hunt has been a huge hassle, but I bet it will be worth it in the end.

This started out as four of us; me, my husband, my best friend and his best friend. My best friend had a deadline. The end of may was when his parents sold the house and he had to be out. We had a for sure yes on all but Brenton's friend. He still wasn't sure if he wanted to or not. Well two weeks from deadline we couldn't wait any longer. We asked for his final answer, so we could move forward on our plans. His final answer was yes.

After viewing apartments and filling out twenty-four applications (one week after getting started) Brenton's friend told us he had decided he couldn't afford it. He acted very rude when telling Brenton this. Later he told me the reason he was so rude is he was prepared for Brenton to fight him on his decision. I will spare you some details. We weren't upset that he wasn't going to be our roommate, but more frustrated on how he handled it.

We decided that after changing his mind so many times, it would be best to leave it be so he didn't change his mind after finding a place. Besides three people are easier to find a place for than four.

I started over on the apartment hunt. Widening my range from three or more room to two or more rooms. Which two bedrooms are cheaper than three, and there is more option. Apartment hunting practically by myself since Brenton and my friend work all day. I had so many possibilities. Then a couple days before the deadline my friend told me he was moving to Kansas with his parents. To me that was extremely frustrating. Not because he wasn't moving in with us but we were rushing for him, he had limited our area of search, and he waited too late to tell us.

So for a third time I started looking again. Now I must put my search on hold, because our options might change. The reason is Brenton got a call from his temp agency employer. They have until Friday before they will fall him if they will keep him permanently or if he will have to be put on a different temp job. Most of the other jobs are in the Salt Lake County area, so we might be moving to Salt Lake City. But, I really.think he will get to stay on the one he is at. Who knows what is going to happen next. I will update this hopefully after we figure out what his job it doing.
